About Greg

I started dabbling in yoga not long after the turn of the millennium and have peeling the onion ever since. While the physical benefits are many, I am particularly drawn to the more subtle life balancing aspects of meditation and breath work. I’m happy to contribute my business background to the ownership group but with one course of teacher training behind me who knows where we will end up!  As a long time resident and business person, it’s exciting to watch the development of the Camrose yoga community. Please join us on the yoga path!

Words of Wisdom:

Always remember to connect with your breath ~ your gentle, inner support that is always there with you. And then smile.

Favourite Quote:

“Never forget: We are alive within mysteries.”

~ Wendell Berry

Good to know:

After living in BC for 20 years, I moved back in 2018 with my family to our roots here in Alberta. I have a dance background ~ jazz in my teen years & then ballet for many years after that. I’ve used movement throughout my life as a way to release stress and revitalize.  I love eating and growing my own healthy food ~ gardening brings me immense joy! Having a strong sense of community is very important to me, and I love skipping over the small talk, and getting deep into meaningful conversations.

I love yoga because:

It centers me, keeps me grounded, close to the nourishment of my breath, and reminds me of my connections ~ within and without!

Words of wisdom:

Mindfulness is cultivated by continually returning the focus to the present moment in my practice. To not only the physical bodily sensation but also the mental sensation of mood, emotions, and thoughts as they come and go.  This builds the resilience to navigate the waves and journey in life.

Favourite quote:

Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you” and  Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”  ~ Rumi    &    “Love is all there is” ~ The Beatles

Good to know:

I study and practice Gnosis – knowledge of spiritual mysteries (or jñāna yoga). I am fascinated by sound energy, music, movement and rythym. I build and play my own instruments (banjo).

I love yoga because:

I love yoga practice because it connects my mental, physical and spiritual centres and provides the backdrop for relationship, breathwork, muscle strength, flexibility, spiritual growth, self-realization, awareness, and consciousness. It is a practice that allows me to notice the subtle bodies and gently lifts me out of habits that don’t serve me and issues that have been stored in my tissues. I also enjoy teaching because of the opportunity to share with others the gifts passed to me from the teachers in my life.
